May 09, 2023Fenix Simulations rolls out update for the A320, introduces new installer with A319 teaser - MSFS Addons
Fenix Simulations has peeked out of their development bunker, unveiling a substantial A320 update that sets the stage for their highly anticipated A319 & A321 Expansion Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The highlight of this update is the new Fenix Installer, designed to streamline the update process and significantly reduce installation times. Ben, Fenix’s CTO, reports that clean installs now take a median time of 71 seconds, while updates can be completed in as little as 11 seconds – a marked improvement over the previous installer’s performance.
On the audio front, the team has also implemented substantial enhancements to the A320’s soundscape. These include an overhaul of cockpit wind noise based on new binaural recordings, improvements to over-wing and behind-wing sound experiences, and refinements to the atmospheric sound model. A notable addition is the option to choose between Vickers and Parker electric hydraulic pump sounds, catering to aviation enthusiasts who appreciate such minute details.
Fenix has also introduced a more realistic ADIRU wind simulation. This change affects how wind data is displayed on the Navigation Display, particularly during takeoff and when using rudder input during flight. Minor adjustments to the fly-by-wire system have also been made to enhance pitch control smoothness.
The update also includes various bug fixes and performance improvements, setting the stage for the highly anticipated A319 & A321 Expansion Pack. Interestingly, an image of the proposed Fenix A319 has emerged from the depths of the new Installer, marking the first time we see Fenix’s rendition of that shorter A320 variant.
The entire development update from Fenix can be read on their official blog, where a link to download the new Installer is also available. As for the latest update for the A320 (Fenix A320 Base Pack V2.2.0.232), check the full release notes below to see all that is new!
